Hate crimes are an extreme form of discrimination, so we must talk about not only the consequences of this phenomenon, but also its causes. Dividing people into "us" and "them", tolerance for discriminatory attitudes and humiliating comments create base for the spread of hatred. Therefore, I invite you to actively support people facing hatred by reporting criminal acts, ensuring that the dignity and equality of every person is respected in Lithuania.

Banning hate speech does not mean that you cannot express your beliefs or criticize other people's actions. But it is important to remember that none of us has the right to do violence to another person by attacking his, her or their identity.
